Community Partnerships

                 The Winter Park Community Center

We are LOVING working and playing with the girls at the Winter Park Community Center! They are so resilient and have each have a beautiful and unique story.

There are empowerment words under all that “Be-you-tiful” color! One of our WP Community Center teens is pictured here painting as a form of expression and focus. One of our many projects planned for this amazing group of girls!

                             The Simon Youth Academy

“Thanks to the generosity of the Simon Youth Foundation Grant, we were able to hire professional yoga instructors to work with our students on mindfulness, meditation and stress relieving techniques such as Yoga. Our students surely got a workout while being instructed by Katie Kovaleski and Sarabeth Jackson from Holding Space. We are looking forward to our monthly sessions with this wonderful organization as we learn that self-care is important to our bodies and minds to produce the best of ourselves.” – Sonia Ledger, Lead Teacher, Simon Youth Academy

              The Orlando Youth Advocate Program
In January we began our first of eight weekly sessions that we will be providing to the teen girls of the Orlando Youth Advocate Program. This amazing program pairs personal advocates with teens who are at risk for being taken out of their homes and placed in foster care. They have an amazing success rate and both the teens and advocate’s lives are greatly impacted. This program is unique because both the teens and their advocates participate, which truly creates a lead by example atmosphere. We look forward to watching these teens grow and shift as many of them practice yoga and mindfulness for the very first time.

                                     The Yoga Shala
The Yoga Shala was our very first partnership and we are so grateful for their continued support. Krista Shirley, the owner, took a chance on us a year ago, before we had launched any programs. She shared the vision we had for helping those who are feeling stuck and was excited to offer a space that could help teen girls in particular. Almost a year later, The Yoga Shala is still our home studio and we hold classes there on both Wednesday and Thursday nights.
